Dr. Renu Sharma is a retired Associate Professor from the Department of Psychology at The Maharaja Sayajirao University of Baroda , Vadodara, with over 25 years of teaching experience. 


She is also a trained and experienced hypnotherapist who currently practices as a full-fledged counsellor, providing counselling services for various psychological issues faced by people of all ages., Dr. Renu Sharma possesses rich knowledge in academics and practicing psychology, making her a proficient professional in her field. 


She has actively participated in numerous national and international conferences and conducted several workshops, and she continues to serve as a teaching faculty in the Diploma course in Clinical and Applied Hypnosis run by the Department of Psychology at MSU. She, along with Dr Palan, has edited a book on Hypnosis, and is an executive member of the Academy of Hypnosis.


Driven by a unique sense of purpose, she utilizes her skills and expertise to benefit others, advocating for mental health support and causes she believes in. Counselling services are the key elements to her future.

 Hypnotherapy, also known as hypnosis, is a therapeutic technique that uses hypnosis to help individuals address various mental and physical health conditions. It involves inducing a trance-like state of focused attention and heightened suggestibility with the help of a clinical hypnotherapist. This trance-like state is similar to being completely absorbed in a book, movie, music, or even one's own thoughts or meditations. In this state, clients can turn their attention completely inward to find and utilize the natural resources deep within themselves that can help them make changes or regain control in certain areas of their life. Hypnotherapy is an adjunct form of therapy, used along with other forms of psychological or medical treatment. American Medical Association (AMA) and British Medical Association (BMA) have recognized usefulness of hypnotherapy and approved its use in medical practice. American Psychological Association has also endorsed it as a branch of psychology. Hypnotherapy is used to treat a range of psychological and medical issues. There is abundant literature on the efficacy of hypnotherapy.
